# Members and organizations


> Invite people to your organization, choose their roles, and switch between organizations.

An organization is where your team works together. Everyone in it shares the
same stores, products, workflows, templates, subscription, and credits.

## Prerequisites [#prerequisites]

To invite people or change roles, you need the **Owner** or **Admin** role in
the organization.

## Invite a member [#invite-a-member]

1. Open **Settings → Members**.
2. On the **Members** tab, select **Invite**.
3. Enter one or more email addresses, choose a role, and select
   **Send invitations**.

The invited person receives an email. The invitation works only for that
email address. After they sign in or create an account, they land in your
organization.

## Roles [#roles]

| Role   | What the role can do                                                                                               |
| ------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Owner  | Everything an admin can do, plus the subscription, billing, guided setup, and the affiliate program                |
| Admin  | Connect, edit, and delete stores; set up integrations such as webhooks and Monday; invite members and change roles |
| Member | Work with the organization's stores, products, workflows, templates, and integration results                       |

The owner is the person the organization belongs to. The member list shows
the owner with the **Admin** role. Nobody can remove the owner, and ownership
cannot be transferred.

When your role does not include a page or an action, CopyHero shows
**Ask your organization owner**.

## Switch organizations [#switch-organizations]

If you belong to more than one organization, use the organization switcher at
the bottom of the sidebar. CopyHero then opens the dashboard of the selected
organization.

If you do not see the switcher, expand the sidebar. You can also create a new
organization from the switcher.

## Leave an organization [#leave-an-organization]

Open **Settings → Members**, select **General**, and then select
**Leave organization**. The owner always stays a member of their own
organization.

## What stays private [#what-stays-private]

Your assistant chats are private. Other members of the organization do not
see them. Everything else in the organization is shared.

## Expected result [#expected-result]

Your team works on the same products, workflows, and stores, and each person
can do what their role allows.

## If something goes wrong [#if-something-goes-wrong]

* If you cannot invite more people, your organization may have reached its
  member limit. Contact support.
* A removed member loses access shortly after the removal.
* If CopyHero shows "We couldn't open your organization.", sign out and sign in
  again. If the message stays, contact support.
