# Create a Translate task


> Configure a reusable task that translates product content.

Create a **Translate** task when products need content in another language.

## Before you begin [#before-you-begin]

Decide whether every run should use a named language or **Store Language**. Store Language uses the destination store's configured language at run time.

## Create the task [#create-the-task]

1. Open **Tasks** and select **New Task**.
2. Select **Translate**.
3. Enter a required **Name** and, if useful, a **Description**.
4. Under **Target Language**, select **Store Language** or a listed language.
5. Select **Create Task**.

## Expected result [#expected-result]

The new Translate task appears in **Tasks**. Add it to a workflow before starting it on products.

## Errors and limits [#errors-and-limits]

You must provide both a name and a target language. If the destination store or its language is not suitable for a Store Language run, choose a specific language or correct the store configuration before retrying.
