# Create a metafield set


> Build reusable groups of Shopify metafields for product imports.

Create a metafield set when the same fields should be generated or supplied for many products.

## Prerequisites [#prerequisites]

Open **Metafield Sets** and have the namespace, key, and type required by Shopify.

## Steps [#steps]

1. Select **New set**.
2. Name the set and add its metafield entries.
3. Configure each entry's prompt or value behavior and on-error handling.
4. Save the set.

## Options [#options]

Use a separate set for a distinct catalog or store requirement. Edit or delete sets from the **Metafield Sets** list.

## Expected result [#expected-result]

The saved set can be selected in import flows that support metafields.

## If something goes wrong [#if-something-goes-wrong]

Correct invalid field details or values, then save again. Do not delete a set that is still needed by an active configuration.
