Connect a Shopify store

Connect a destination store before you publish processed products to Shopify. CopyHero guides you through creating and installing a custom Shopify app with the permissions needed for the connection.

The guided setup does not connect a store: it only reads your store's language and currency from the address you give it. You connect the store here.

1. Open Destination Stores.
2. Select Connect Store.
3. Enter the store prefix or paste any URL for the Shopify store.
4. Confirm the normalized .myshopify.com address before continuing.

Which store name to enterCopy Anchor Link

Enter the permanent .myshopify.com name of the store, not a custom domain such as shop.example.com: a custom domain is rejected. Any of these works:

• the name before .myshopify.com, for example my-store;
• the full my-store.myshopify.com address;
• the address of your Shopify admin, admin.shopify.com/store/my-store, which contains the same name.

Create the Shopify appCopy Anchor Link

The connection drawer links to the Shopify development-app settings for the selected store. You create this app yourself, in your own Shopify admin: it is not an app you install from a store listing, and CopyHero does not create it for you. In Shopify:

1. Create an app manually.
2. Name the app CopyHero App.
3. Follow the CopyHero connection steps to configure the displayed app URLs and required permissions.
4. Enter the generated client credentials in CopyHero.
5. Select Install App and approve the installation in Shopify.

The store appears in Destination Stores and can be selected when you use Import to Shopify.

Treat the client secret like a password. Never paste it into support messages, screenshots, or shared documents.

If the connection failsCopy Anchor Link

• Confirm that you used the permanent .myshopify.com domain rather than a custom storefront domain.
• Verify the client ID and secret were copied from the same Shopify app.
• Save changed app URLs and permissions in Shopify before trying again.
• If an existing store has limited permissions, add the permissions shown in CopyHero and reconnect the store.
