Reconnect a Shopify store

Reconnect a destination store to grant changed Shopify permissions without creating a new store entry.

When to reconnect

Reconnect after changing your Shopify app permissions, when CopyHero reports limited Shopify permissions, or when the Shopify authorization needs to be refreshed.

Reconnect the store

1. Open Destination Stores and select the store.
2. When CopyHero shows Limited Shopify permissions, select Open Shopify app if available.
3. Add and save the scopes displayed by CopyHero in the Shopify app.
4. Return to CopyHero and select Reconnect store.
5. Complete the Shopify authorization screen.

If CopyHero asks for credentials

For a custom Shopify app whose saved secret cannot be used, CopyHero opens Reconnect Store with the shop and Client ID prefilled. Re-enter the app’s Client Secret, then finish the install flow. Keep that secret private.

Expected result

The existing destination store remains available with its refreshed authorization. If the alert concerned description-image hosting, the new permission allows CopyHero to host those images on Shopify’s CDN.
